DELESDERNIER HOUSE Eastport, Maine - Eastport's first Custom agent
and postmaster, L.F. Delesdernier built this Federal-style house 200
years ago in 1807. A veteran of the Revolutionary War, Delesdernier fled
to Lubec during the War of 1812 to avoid capture when British troops
occupied Eastport. The British used this house as officers' quarters
during the occupation of Eastport from 1814 to 1818.
Nestled amid pines on a tranquil street, this historic home is a short
stroll from a rocky beach on
the bay.
Attached to the house is a
one room studio
apartment, Sea Glass. If available Sea Glass may be rented with
Delesdernier House for extended family. |
